Dr. Sean Bignami

Dr. Sean Bignami graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a B.S. in Aquatic 生物学和 the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine 和 Atmospheric Science with a Ph.D. 海洋生物学和渔业. His doctoral research investigated the effects of ocean acidification (ocean pH change) on larval marine fishes. Dr. Bignami is the founder 和 Director of the 崔海洋实验室, which supports 欧文康考迪亚大学 classes, 学生和Faculty研究, 和 a mobile touch-tank educational outreach program. His current research interests span a range of areas in the marine sciences, 包括实验, 生态, 渔业/保护生物学. Current projects include the study of ocean acidification, impact of sea star wasting disease on intertidal communities, 和 assessment of Pismo clam populations in southern California. Dr. Bignami also serves as the advisor of Concordia’s Epsilon Chi Delta Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta National Biological Honor Society. He especially enjoys including 和 advising students in research 和 outreach programs, 和 providing an opportunity for them to explore their faith as it intersects with their passion for science.
